Kim Myung Min, Ryu Hye Young, And Lee Jung Confirm To Join JTBC’s Upcoming Drama ‘Law School’
Kim Myung Min, Lee Jung, and Ryu Hye Young are confirmed to be joining Kim Bum for JTBC’s new drama “Law School” (working title).
The upcoming drama project “Law School” follows the story of students and professors of South Korea’s top law school who get caught up in an unusual case.
Kim Myung Min will be taking the role of a criminal law professor who used to be an elite prosecutor named Yang Jong Hoon. The character’s harsh words make him the No. 1 professor to avoid among the students. His strict teaching methods include refusing to accept less than the best from his future juniors in the legal profession.
Playing as Kang Sol is Ryu Hye Young, a first-year law student who surpassed poverty and misfortune in childhood to gain special admission to the law school. Due to the constant sense of deprivation and shame compared to the wealth and talent around her, Kang Sol walks a path of thorns. However, her passion will teach her the truth about what it means to be a lawyer.
Kim Bum has been cast as Han Joon Hwi, who is the top of his class in first-year. He is a natural leader whose easy charm and good looks make him the perfect man on paper. However, Han Joon Hwi has been hiding a deep secret that is unexpected of him.
Lee Jung Eun has been cast as Kim Eun Sook in the drama. The actress was known for her role in the Oscar-winning film “Parasite.” In the series, she will play a civil law professor who used to be the head of the law school’s legal clinic for free legal services. What gave her the reputation for being a master in court is her natural air of authority and freewheeling personality. She is famous for being a relatable professor at the law school, and she is also the only colleague in whom Yang Jong Hoon confides.
As per drama source, the drama series is set against the backdrop of South Korea’s first law school and combines a legal thriller with a campus drama. Kim Bum, Ryu Hye Young, Kim Myung Min, and Lee Jung Eun are a formidable legal team of professors and students. “Please look forward to seeing their brilliant acting and refreshing new characters in this story of young lawyers-in-training.”
Kim Suk Yoon will be directing “Law School” and written by Seo In. It is slated to air sometime in the first half of 2021.
